I am a massive fan of the all weather racing and plan to pull apart as many of the all weather race meetings throught out the winter. Each day we will post up our best bets in here with notes, you will be able to see the past 7 days notes!

Course Information:

Kempton

Is the only right handed course, uses polytrack surface similar to those at Lingfield, Wolverhampton & Great Leighs but tends to run slightly slower than those. Tends to favour front runners at times and may be something to watch for over the winter to see if this is still the trend. Higher drawn horses do well round here being on the inside. As far as trainers and jockeys go to follow round here, GoDolphin seem to do well round here with their horses recently and Hughes also tends to do well round here recently but has vowed not to race on AW during winter

Our courses Statistics: Staked: 94.1pts Returned: 83.55pts

Profit/Loss: -10.55pts

Lingfield

Is a left handed course, uses the polytrack surface similar to that of Wolverhampton, Kempton and Great Leighs. Tends to be the fastest of all the all weather tracks but front runners have an awful time round here. Neil Callan has an extremely good record round here recently.

Our courses Statistics: Staked: 46.7pts Returned: 57.69pts

Profit/Loss: +10.99pts

Southwell

Is a left handed course and is the only one which uses the fibre sand surface nowadays which tends to favor front runners or prominent runners simply because of the kick back and its hard to accelerate up on the surface. It is very much a specialist course and therefore important to look for previous form round here. It is the only AW course with a straight 5f trip. It also seemed to run faster in the middle rather than rails because of the way the track is maintained (has to be harrowed deeply). Seb Sanders seems to do well round here.

Our courses Statistics: Staked: 18.5pts Returned: 21.89pts

Profit/Loss: +3.39pts

Wolverhampton

Is a left handed course and uses the same polytrack surface similar to that of Kempton, Lingfield and Great Leighs. It is again a fast track and is extremely similar to the AW tracks in America as it is a 1mile oval and because of that there tends to be a fairly strong draw bias in low numbers for the simple reason the bends come so quickly and prominent horses again do better. Spencer and Callan again seem to do well round here.

Our courses Statistics: Staked: 112.2pts Returned: 116.94pts

Profit/Loss: +4.74pts

Black Dahlia has run 2 solid efforts at this level over this course, was rather disappointing back in handicap company last time but hopefully bounce back today and should run her solid race again. The other interest is Island Sunset who has thoroughly earnt her position in this line up even perhaps somethings to find on OR she is progressing nicely though and unbeaten in 4 starts so far on the aw she has well earnt her place.

Blimey AW handicaps dont get much harder than this. Bravo echo has improved throughout the winter and appeared to have something to spare when beating autumn blades last time out up a further 5lb for that effort and certainly on an upward curve. Having said that Autumn Blades is another worth consideration having improved massively throughout the winter up a further 2lb for latest effort but probert onboard again and gets on well with him and also visor fitted again, he is drawn widest stall but is perhaps not a massive problem as he likes getting cover and being presented late. The Scorching Wind is worth considering having been well backed last time out on the back of winning his super 7 qualifier infront of Bravo Echo but was badly hampered last time out and if all is well and thats forgotten he could go close but I have a niggling concern he is higher enough in the weights nowadays. And finally Rileyskeepingfaith is a lightly raced gelding who is open to any amount of improvement on the back of some solid efforts in dubai off a 1lb lower mark and should find this easier having not been disgraced in group company a couple of times last year.

0.5pt e/w Bravo Echo 6/1 hills

4.55 Kempton

Kristallo is 2 form 3 on the AW recently but was made to work hard last time out and in this better company may find 3lb rise enough to hold off the hatrick. For me the most interesting runner has to be Cold Turkey who landed a big gamble over CD 9 days ago off a career low mark and is still extremely well handicapped on old form and although not force of old he should be capable of landing this off just a 6lb higher mark. The other I will have as a saver is Oxford City who was taken out during the week obviously with this in mind and was ready to tap into him but not quite so keen in this race he is unproven over this trip on the flat but did shape last time out as a step up in trip wouldnt be a bad choice and if seeing the trip out he looks well handicap on irish form.

0.75pt win cold turkey

0.25pt win oxford city

3.35 Dundalk

Ryan had both Arganil and Green Manalishi entered for this earlier in the week and has opted for Green Manalishi who ran a solid race behind Jaconet last month at this level at lingfield and Ryan and Spencer are certainly not gonna waste a trip over here and has gone well round here before and should hold a solid claim in this race.

1pt win Green Manalishi

3.30 Southwell

Competitive at tope of handicap with several of these closely matched and extremely weak at the bottom end! I am gonna take a chance on Mr Funshine to build on his penultimate start when winning quite convingcingly over CD on penultimate start never given a chance last time when badly hampered at wolverhampton.

0.25pt e/w mr funshine (if 5/1 or over if not just 0.5pt win)

4.00 Southwell

Interesting little handicap with several of these have a bit to answer as to why they have been off the track for so long but they bring some useful form and represent some strong stables but might worth chancing the course speciliast Lucky Punt who has had a winter break since winning his last start over this course winning by 5lengths easily, up a further 6lb but appears to go strength to strength round here with 6 starts winning 5 and 2nd on his other and has gone well fresh before.

1pt win lucky punt 11/4 pp

Itsalreaydthursday is worth an ew shout after a much improved effort last time out at Wolves and now dropped another 2lb, he won a maiden in june and then went on to contest some hot stake races which did his handicap mark no good but now on his way down to a possible mark and should be thereabouts from a decent draw in stall 8.

0.25pt e/w itsalreadythursday

8.00 Kempton

Another decent handicap with half the field in good form and showing a likeable attitude in places mainly in ocford city, free tussy and jeer and trachonitis and confidentially can often be counted upon to run their races but have seriuous doubts about both in this field with the first 3 showing much better attitude recently. Jeer was a decent winner last time out and still looks well handicapped on turf form concerned that he might struggle in this better race today. Free tussy is another that has been solid races lately but looks plenty high enough in the weights right now. So that leads me to Oxford City who is actually 1lb out of the handicap but ran an extremely solid and eye catching race last time out and could be well handicapped on his irish form.

3.20 Wolverhampton

Justcallmehandsome has shaped as though he is in good form recently totally outclassed 3 starts ago out of the handicap 11lb but still shaped well for most of the race but has since come out and put 2 good efforts in recently and only had the unexposed and useful looking dajen in front last time out over CD, and Kelly appears to get on well with the horse.

0.25pt e/w justcallmehandsome

3.50 Wolverhampton

Interesting little race with some potentially useful 3yr olds. Breathless kiss has potential and has to be a concern with the Spencer & Ryan combination but been a little disapponting last 2 outings and also shown best form over 5f not 6f. So that leaves me with 2, one being Niran for Clive Brittian he won 2 ok races last year and was well held in group2 company but got back to winning ways on penultimate start up 4lb for that effort and although rather worringly never looked to be going anywhere last time out I feel that needs to be forgotten about hope he can bounce back with my fav jockey Callan on board and also stepping back in trip. Dusty Spirit was second to Jarrow on first start for over 130days and that was on the back of a busy 2yr old campaign with some useful placed form and J dean has got on well with this horse and gets to run off same mark todayif able to build on that second.

0.5pt win dusty spirit

4.20 Wolverhampton

Hard to oppose William Way still well handicapped on old form and won extremely well on penultimate start and lost little in defeat last time out to the well treated kames park on his old form and might be worth another chance now stepping back up in trip he looks an out and out stayer these days.

1pt win williams way

3.10 Lingfield

Very few of these get me thinking they have a chance but Poppanan could be an interesting runner if he is fully fit and it right frame of mind. Reasonably lightly raced for a 4yr old having only 6 runs to date and did manage a win in maiden company at bath but did put several good enough efforts together in better company than this off a 3lb higher mark and defenetily found 7f to stamina stretching last time out which resulted in the 3lb reduction so fair chance back over 6f today.

0.25pt e/w poppanan

4.40 Lingfield

Weak even for the grade and would be no surprise see Moore getting his season off to a good start on the slightly quirky Charlie Smirke often a strong traveller but often gets going to late so has won once with a well timed ride to win extremely easy on penultimate start off a 7lb lower mark, was better than bare result last time out when no whips were allowed to use and got going far too late again under an inexperienced apprentice and gets to run off same mark today.

1pt win charlie smirke

Friday 26th March

3.15 Lingfield

Poor field for the grade and it might be worth taking a chance on financial times in a field that you can have questions about every runner. He was once very useful on the aw and sure to come on for the run last week his first for nearly 2 years and is only 2lb higher than last win and would be no big surprise to see him run a better race if able to get cover this time and settle.

0.25pt e/w financial times

4.25 Lingfield

Another weak looking race but again it might be worth giving mr plod a second chance on the back of a 100 day break, he was a very impressive winner on penultimate start and gave the shape as if there was a lot more to come off a much higher mark but never got going last time out one would guess they found something wrong to give him the break and if everything is ok and fully wound up he could be very interesting.

0.5pt e/w mr plod

5.00 Lingfield

Best race on the card by far Negotiation is potentially open to plenty of improvement but was a disappointing flop when last seen and aw surface also an unknown. Officer in command warrants a lot of respect having only found december draw too much in a much hotter race last time out but has gone up 4lb for that which for me leaves me with Island Sunset who is up 6lb for narrow victory last time out, he has now won 3 from 3 and is the one open to a lot more improvement than others although 6lb does look a little harsh on paper but that trip looks a little short and will apprecaite this step up in trip today.

1pt win island sunset

Rathbawn girl is a f/c sp of 25/1 on ATR which looks huge and is currently trading at 12/1 on BF which i would be happy with in the morning. She is a prominent racer but never got that chance last time out and prior to that was raced over a mile which stetched her and has run her best races over 6f will tackle that tonight for the first time in handicap company and might be worth a chance in this weak field.

0.25pt e/w rathbawn girl

Le Toreador didnt need to be anywhere near his best to land a 4 runner handicap a month ago over this trip at lingfield but he couldnt have been more impressive up 4lb for that effort can continue his good aw record with 3 wins from 4 so far and still looks to be improving.

Lucky Redback is probably worth another chance after clearly undone by a muddling pace last time out and is sure to improve for another run under his belt, he was impressive on penultimate start off a 3lb lower mark blinkers are fitted today which should be an improvement as he clearly isnt an easy ride often looks hard work to get going at time.

Dinner date would be extreme interest if all 8 runners go to post for e/w purpose always runs solid races around here.

Cant see many front runners in this race they nearly all likely to sit off the pace the only front runners I can see is Rosy Dawn who is clearly not at the best right now and New World Order who is better drawn and ran a better race last time out off same mark today has cheekpieces fitted for the first time today and may well just bring out a little more. The other interest is Carr Hall who ran a good race last time out 2 months ago going down to formiddable guest by a head who has gone on to win twice off a 5lb higher mark and the rest of the form looks solid for the grade, this is first time out for a yard that can do no wrong right now Carrol.

Wetherby place last run is best ignored was badly hampered and never got going afterwards but had previously been running well and looks worth a try over a slightly further trip.

0.5pt e/w wetherby place

7.20 Kempton

Wotashirtful shapes as though he can win right now but he just always apears just held on the line and is becoming frustrating, Sherjawy had a 4 runner race turn out his way last time out and perhaps is a little flattered by that and would be a surprise if wotashirtful turned the tables. But it might be worth taking Lord of The Reins he needs races turn out his way a strong pace to come off last time he got that from the extremely fast Glamarous Spirit who done the form no harm at listed level last weekend, he is up 2lb for that and is still well handicapped on old form and should get a race run to suit with ocean blaze and wotashirtful in the lineup.

1pt win lord of the reins

8.50 Kempton

Plenty of runner and plenty of questions will be looking to play 2 in this field them being Whodunit who ran away with a seller on penultimate start before second to the unexposed franco is my name and is clearly in good heart an extra 3lb to find but Carson booked to ride again. The other I will be playing is Cross the line who has a good record on the AW and often runs well here and has rarely needed a run to get into the swing of things so certainly could figure off a tumbling mark (9lb lower than last win). Will stake when prices come out also wouldnt discount Sapphire Prince nor Resplendant Nova who may be found out by this trip.

Monday 22nd March

Relatively poor card from Wolverhampton, and sorry for brief write ups hurt me finger/hand today not easy to type.

2.20 Wolverhampton

Dianes Choice won on penultimate start quite easily admitly weak handicap but todays no better was unable to shake off 6lb penalty 2 days later perhaps race came too soon returns after 25days today and only 3lb higher for that win and should be well on the scene with last race form looking extremely solid for the grade.

0.25pt e/w Dianes Choice

3.50 Wolverhampton

Turf season upon us 3 yr old race need to be studied now and Brittains Srda stands out a mile as being quite well handicapped off a mark of 71 having beaten a now 73 rated horse in 3rd who went on to win n maiden company and 4th also gone on to land a claimer in good fashion. She actually holds an entry into the Oaks and will need to be rated more than 71 to be considered for that so perhaps she is a little better than this grade and takes the step up in trip needed to land ablow in that event certainly a very interesting runner.

1pt win srda

Make Amends is seeking a hatrick and although up another 4lb for latest win she is a real fighter in the finish and her attitude stands her in good stead in this field. The other interets is the long standing maiden Tropical Blue consistent and should be capable of picking a prize up soon was 3lengths down on the useful benedict spirit before he went on to win again and is up 1lb for that effort and his best races have come under this jockey.

0.5pt win make amends

There arent many horses at this level you grow to love but Bluebok is one I have he really is a tough cookie barely ever runs a bad race and now running off a 5lb lower mark than last win and J Dean is finally back in the saddle and claiming a useful 3lb and should land one of these little races sooner or later, good draw aswell today in stall 5.

Well AW racing doesnt get much hotter than this card on Winter Derby day and a real sign the flat season is upon us HOOOOOOOOORAY!!

1.55 Lingfield

Hard to rule out to many of these especially considering this is a 'hands and heels' apprentice race but it might be worth following Charlie Smirke for a follow up effort, he was starting to get a reputation for being ungenuine because he had 5 2nds in a row but Baker assured punters he wasnt and he made it look easy last time out up 7lb for that effort 3lb offset by jockeys claim and sure to give his running having had a short break.

0.5pt e/w charlie smirke

2.25 Lingfield

Perhaps not a race to get involved heavily with as many of these are closely matched on recent CD runs in qualifiers and that makes it hard from a punters view but I am a big fan of Autumn Blades and I believe is over priced at 10/1 has been running over trips too far last twice although running with credit first time pushed very wide and last time jockey dropped reins. Probert gets on well with the horse and cheekpieces were ditched last twice and interestingly visor is tried again and I cant see any reason why he wont run a solid race. From the scoop 6 point of view this would be a leg that may be worth one or more option. Everymanforhimself won last time out but had things perhaps in his favour last time out and faces a stiffer mark today. The scorching wind has a good record on the AW and is perhaps the most progressive in the field. Bravo echo is another progressive sort but was a head short on scorching wind 1lb better off at the weights which would put them closesly matched and is lightly raced but wide draw wont help this prominent sort.

0.5pt e/w Autumn Blades 10/1 bet365

In all honesty I havnt paid much attention to the 3yr olds lately simply lack of time likely to come into my betting soon but will be playing this one as I have watched Grey's last 2 races in handicaps and very impressive!

Hard to oppose Greyfriarschorista absolutely thrashed everything he has been faced with since going handicapping and looks well upto a crack at a listed race and is the one to beat especially with confirmed polytrack success.

1pt win Greyfriarschorista 5/2 bet365

Dalradian has to find a little bit on official figures but is progressing extremely well and looks unexposed especially over this sort of trip having won over this CD very easily in handicap on penultimate start. But having said that they will all have to go someway to beat Tranquil Tiger who is now 2 from 2 over CD both in listed affairs trouncing Presvis and just get the better of Suits Me, goes well fresh and Queally gets on extremely well with the horse. Stotsfold comes into this the highest rated on OR but would have 1lb to find on Tranquil Tiger if this was a handicap held hot company last 2 years and did manage a win in group3 company at Longchamp acts on the surface and could be dangerous if all is well and has gone well fresh before. Typically the french raider looks over priced at 9/1 comes here in good form with 2 wins recently at Cagnes including a listed affair and has previously won a group3 and would be dangerous to dismiss. Personally cant cant have Soul City useful as a juvenile has several questions to answer now on polytrack debut, stepped up in trip and concerns as to why he has been off the track so long also likely to get pestered for the lead from the ultra tough Suits Me who couldnt have for the win purpose often set the race up for others but nonetheless is a toughy that ought to be a banker for the placepot imo!!

Dance the star won very easily when last ridden by Spencer didnt run to bad last time out off revised mark but his style does cause problems but suits spencer if he gets it right and will need a career best. Becausewecan has some useful form in the book and was last seen winning a valuable handicap at newmarket off a 5lb lower mark also has good form on AW with a win and 2 seconds has run well fresh before and yard can ready them if they want and market vibes important. Cluain Alain is an ex Oxx inmate and would be interest again if backed for a yard that does well with these sorts and often backed off boards if they do go well! Benedict spirit showed he is still in good form when 2nd yesterday at fakenham but unlikely to turn up for this surely! Cashpoint is relatively unexposed having won a weak NHF and a weak maiden last time out his opening mark looks a little harsh and would need to be something special to defy it in this company! Sworn Tigress is perhaps worth some credit after her performance last night she clearly got too far behind and wide throughout had little to offer with the winner who made all and flown nest but she did stay on well and if she can cope with another race in quick succession (you will know she is backed VERY heavily everytime now) back up in trip and inside draw will be easier to be up there this time

This really does look a favourites affair at Lingfield today Jaconet could take all the beating even though stepping back in trip with questions over whether she is better over 6f although has won 3 times over 5f and if she is fit she should be well in here drawn well to get to the front and certainly doesnt lack speed for this trip. Glamorous Spirit might also be worth taking a chance with in this grade clearly a little bit to find at the weights and OR but he is similar to Jaconet in that he will bolt for the line and has everychance of atleast plugging on for a place should the race turn into one where nothing comes from behind and well draw again to do just that

Lady kent finally opened her account last time out on british soil, she carries some useful form in ireland and although the win last week came over 7f she has solid form over a mile and appears to possibly need further often digging deep in closing stages to get up in dying moments up just 2lb for that effort which seems lenient for a potentially progressive sort.

1pt win lady kent

Tight handicap with 6 runners many of these appear in good form but it might be worth giving Anne of Kiev one final chance, she needs a strongly run race as she has an extremely smart turn of foot whe things go right unfortunately the front pair got away last time out but she stayed onwell to suggest she is still in form. Her best form has also come over this CD so of far more interest round here.

Sworn Tigress is clearly better than class 5 handicap and is still 5lb well in even under a double penalty and handicap rise, she romped home by over 9lengths last time out 19lb rise unlikely to course to much trouble the way she won last time out.

SpicnSpan might be worth taking on at a short price as he is yet to win a handicap off a mark this high and last 2 wins have come in CD sellers clearly in good with a decent enough 2nd last time out when chasing the useful wheres riley but even so value could be elsewhere. Pennyspider might be worth taking a risk on making fibresand debut been off the track for 543 days when we saw her a week ago in a claimer ran creditably and should come on from that run only 2lb lower than last win, she is a Bath speciliast on good/soft ground which would suggest she should enjoy the fibresand.

Decent looking class 3 handicap over the flying 5f. Rebel duke beat the useful Nickel silver when we last saw him who has since gone on to win again twice off a 4lb higher mark concern is that most wins have come quickly after a race (all bar maiden win) and he has now had a 76 day break. Arthurs edge looked to be improving landing back to back handicaps before going on to be second in listed company last time out but never gone well fresh and tries fibresand first time. Thebes is clearly in form having finished a fantastic second to the very useful Tiddliwinks at the weekend also beat onceuponatime prior to that and actually recieves 9lb from him today because he has won since and runs under a penalty and handicap rise which makes things tough for him. Pawan has plummeted in the weights and is a useful sort but you can guarantee he will be nearly 10lb over weight because of his hopeless rider aswel as already being 1lb out of the handicap which is sad really as he is potentially well treated now and stables runners appear to be picking up. Wheres riley takes a big step up in class but has been improving at rapid knots over CD and was impressive last time out but 16lb rise in weights (under penalty) is a big ask but even so clearly improving, the other interesting runner is Rievaulx World who held hot company last year group and listed company and had little joy but first try on fibresand he could well be well handicapped having only raced once in handicap company running away 6 lengths clear of second off a 10lb lower mark 2 years ago.

Thunderstruck ran a good race in defeat last time out clearly in real good heart currently and runs off same mark today loves get his own way up front and should get just that especially from stall 1, Perpetually may remain the biggest threat if coming on for the run as he remains unexposed and same can be said for the useful looking december draw.

Granny Mcphee may be worth another chance in this company, was a good second to the useful franco is my name 3 starts ago followed that up with an extremely good win in similar race clearly found the race coming too soon the next day to follow up had a few weeks off up 5lb for that win which is offset by a capable 7lb claimer.

Weak race which should be dominated by the 2 market leaders Whatyouwoodwishfor and Brittains Hypnotist always worried about opposing an inform Brittain horse but this is his first try on fibresand where as Whatyou has won over CD last twice on first occasion beating the inform fuzzy cat and then Tobrata last time out, up 5lb more today and clearly going well right now may prove hard to pin back, the other interest might be Nicholls horse who is an irish purchase who is a front runner which is a good thing round here so any market move would be of keen interest.

If Just Five is of strong interest in this race if back on song now as a 4yr old won a decent handicap at Beverley on penultimate start before disappointing on polytrack but has a good record around here 2 from 4 and the other runs are placed efforts. Makin keeps the ride again.

Lucky Redback won extremely well at lingfield over a possibly unsuitable 6f stepped back up to ideal 7f today (found things happening to quick at the beggining of the race but stayed on well), that was his first run for nearly 500 days he remains unexposed and 3lb looks an extremely light handicap rise and has the look of a slightly better than a plain class 4 handicapper.

2pt win lucky redback

A listed affair but an extremely weak one with several potential unknowns and several of the other higher rated rivals have something to prove right now which leaves me with the unexposed Spruce who is improving at rapid rate of knots admittly been running in weak handicaps recently but he has been doing it with extreme ease and has a smart turn of foot just as at home on polytrack as the fibresand and looks like he could be a value bet.

Punching is clearly in good form with a good second over CD last week when outside handicap by 1lb but gets in this race of top weight and something niggling me he isnt one to followup runs very well plus this mark is high enough for him. Pipers piping is now seeking the hatrick and only up 3lb for latest win which is fair enough ad use of claimer offsets that big concern is the experience of the jockey which is minimal. Fulford is becoming costly to back but has lost little in defeat recently it maybe worth taking a risk with Efisio Princess especially if we can get 8 to post and fully tuned up after another small break, she goes well fresh and has run her best races over this CD and although doesnt look that well handicapped she may have more to offer if they can get her back on song.

After the show finally took advantage of a tumbling mark when getting in front of the inform sherjawy over a month ago, returns to southwell today off a 3lb higher mark and if back on song she could pose as a threat having won off a mark 14lb higher over 6f here. The other one that maybe worth another chance is Trick or Two who looked rather one paced at wolverhampton on friday night but did just keep plugging away and that sort of style should be far more suited to this surface and his only win comes over CD in a seller.

Decent enough listed event and although several of these a running off marks in 100+ but most of them not really running to their mark at the moment where as completely different can be said about the inform Mahadee for the in form Brittian yard. He won a handicap in good style on penultimate start and was seen last time out finishing all to late to force a dead heat and showed that he can handle a sharper 7f, Callan takes the ride again and should be well up for this on the back of these latest efforts. Mias boy could pose the biggest threat barely ever running a bad race, effective on the aw and goes well fresh.

2 weeks until the start of the flat season and this warm up trial to the curtain raiser for the season. Flipando bounced right back to his best last time out when easy winner over an unusual 6f for him, be interesting to see how he goes back over this trip again today off a 10lb higher mark, but did win this race last year off a 4lb lower mark. Collateral Damage was in fine form last year up another 4lb and un proven on the aw surface, but has gone reasonably well when fresh. Autumn Blades has been in cracking form this winter and always appears to give his running at the moment and his last run can be forgiven pushed so wide around the bend and he is better than that right now only concern is this marked step up in trip. Another useful sorts to come out of the wood work this winter is Black Dahlia she has run 2 solid races in listed company but a big concern has to be she is now 19lb higher than last win in handicap because of those 2 runs and surely they arent gonna want a penalty on top of that for the Lincoln.

Useful class 2 handicap, with 3 good inform sprinters lining up that interest me the most. Tiddliwinks was progressing very nicely over the winter up a total of 21lb since first handicap win, and last win came off a 8lb lower mark and probably best forgetting his last run she might prove better over 6f than 7f and has a smart turn of foot. Thebes is a useful performer but does tend to be a bit hit and miss but did get back to winning ways last time out up just 2lb for that effort and 2nd has gone on to win since and would suggest the form could be quite useful but perhaps worth taking on consistency stakes. Bajan Tryst has been in good form recently but was well held by Flipando last time out off new mark and unlikely to get own way upfront.

Amazing Blue Sky makes a reappearance today, although not won on surface does seem to go well on it and finished last year on a high when stable going through a smart patch, yard not in same form currently and he will need a career bets today. Whooshka won well enough last time out beating the useful miss christophene, she did hang quite nastily and new handicap mark and 6lb penalty make her 11lb worse off although is unexposed. But I really like the look of Eseej again around his favoured southwell, hes not always the easiest to predict but to recent efforts of this mark off a lot more hope than most and useful Carson takes a handy 3lb off and last win came off a mark of 72 runs off 70 today.

Not a single one of these can be crossed out completely. Bel Cantor is likely to get to front in this field today like he did when he won on penultimate start before being out of his depth in listed company last time out punching may take him on for the lead but is likely to sit just behind and if thats the case Bel Cantor could quite easily slip the field on the back of some very good runs recently. Onceuponatime has been a consistent horse recently and although has placed efforts round here never won round here but has been running in slightly better races than this. Hits only jude is course specialist and finaly back to her best last time out but never looks easy or one to possible follow up really.

Im a big fan of Baylini but she loves Lingfields speedy downhill corner at the finish and always tends to flop away from Lingfield so for that reason I have to oppose her tonight. Stand Guard will need an uncontested lead to show his best which he maynot get with thunderstruck in the field. And the rest of the field all hold shouts perhaps but thunderstruck look well held last time out, Winter fever doesnt look reliable, Orchard Supreme not offering much although slipping in the weights a lot and for that grade this is potentially weak and should give the useful Tartan Gunna a great opportunity to notch up his 5th career win. He looks to be going the right way with a couple of good efforts when last seen last year off this mark on 3rd start he won off a 3lb lower mark and also has a great record on the AW 6 runs 2 wins, 2 2nds and 1 3rd has also gone well fresh in the past.

Interesting middle distance race Star Choice has been running well all winter and finally got in front last time out in a muddling 5 runner apprentice handicap over 2mile, step back in trip shouldnt be a problem and does go unpenalised but this is more competitive. Byblos might be open to more improvement than most of these having been lightly raced recently and after cutting no mustard over hurdles he was brought back to the flat in a weakish maiden over 1m3f at kempton and he probably did just run upto this mark and makes a return to handicap on a good enough mark and he may just have a little more to offer over this extended trip.

An extremely tough handicap and extremely competitive with several of these in good form right now, Pha Mai Blue shaped as if coming back to hand after a 60 day rest on friday and if that is the case he is dangerously handicapped now 5lb lower than last CD win and he was extremely well back last time out to suggest he has been working well.

If this race is run to form it should be for pickings! Sherjawy has been running well of late but is 4lb out of the handicap and likely to find these 3 a bit too hot for him. Vhujon hasnt won over 5f since her first ever run in a maiden 4 years ago. Step it up has been running with much credit recently but wasnt hard pushed last time out and did stay on encouringangly, so that leaves Wotashirtful who is a speedy front runner and should finally get his bold chance infront again having contested a hot handicap last time out only 3/4l behind the ever improving Nickel Silver runs off same mark today.

Interest race and a small turnout for a decent prize and one I wont be playing, Dubai Dynamo ran a good race at 40/1 last week and step up in trip should be right up his street although reliability never been his strong point so not solid to build on it. Cheviot is lightly raced and although several placed efforts last year but far from ungenuine and should hold solid claims if on song.

7.30 Wolverhampton

Satwa Moon should be far better than a class 5 handicapper, he is bred with some classy blood lines and won extremely convincingly in apprentice event beating the in form By Command by over 2 lengths goes unpenalised for that 9 days ago and step up in trip looks a positive move he wasnt stopping and he shapes as if he could be a handicap blot!

Another handicap blot here in Alex Fergusons Sworn Tigress ran away with similar event over CD last week drops into class 7 today and although shouldering 6lb penalty she is 2lb well in than should would be when her new mark comes into action on saturday.

The flying 5 at southwell the best site in the winter months!! Calmdownmate has been abmismal lately but is dropping down the weights, Hitches Dubai is lightly raced and although made good progress in maidens failed to cut the mustard in one handicap start but could be anything on fibresand debut, Sir Nod appears to go well fresh but is tackling fibresand for the first time so probably worth opposssing this time. Wheres Riley has recently got his act together although still makes slow starts he gets going late a stays on at the death and could well make light work of a 3lb rise in handicap for last win when these sprinters are in form they tend to win several.

Veloso could be dangerous if fully wound up for new yard, hasnt been seen for 480+ days but he has landed some gambles in his time but they have all come in sellers but does handle surface and any money would be of interest. Orkney is handicapped upto his last winning mark but has failed to beat a rival home in last 3 flat starts and was well held on latest try over hurdles. All gunds firing is unexposed and got off the mark last time out 5lb rise should be within reach but up against Dart im not sure it will be today. Dart shaped as though a break was very much needed last tome out when chasing home another AW success story in Russian Musix last time out who went on to win off a 6lb higher mark, Dart returns to the track off a 1lb lower mark and could take all the beating.

A few unexposed sorts in the lineup which I like to see at Southwell as it tends to get used as a training ground. Fuzzy cat does look the easiest ride but did win well enough under this jockey last time out having been backed off the boards, he was also well backed on 2 previous other starts and he may be open to a little more having been lightly raced for his age. The other interesting runner is Apache Moon, although carrying top weight he showed best form under this jockey and also acts on this surface in maidens, well held in claimer last time out but was a big ask and should be more at home in a handicap on these terms, also blinkers fitted for the first time if they have a positive affect.

Competitive and useful handicap with a few of these making seasonal reappearance. Smarty Socks is 3 from 5 round here but finished the year on a low over CD although in a much better race than this. General Tufto was given no chance by his rider last time out when he was yanked back at the start but did stay on past beaten horses and although now running of a career best he did win with something in hand on penultimate start although 8lb may be slightly harsh, but can never be readily discounted on fibresand. Both Mozayada and Transonic are right back to their best fighting out a finish last time out with Transonice just getting the better of Mozayada who now gets a 8lb pull and is potentially well handicapped on his best form and loves it round here.

On a bad few days of racing for us all weather boys it doesnt get any better today and this is a tough little handicap and sadly only 7 runners so only 2 places paid. Orangepip looked a useful sort when winning off a mark of 70 on handicap debut but failed to build on that since, comes here for new trainer having slipped in the weights back down to 73 and if fully wound up she could be capable of getting involved but is a risky option. Fazbee has been running well and managed to win well off a 3lb lower mark than todays but failed to build on that when second to ishiadancer who failed to give that form much of a boost and will probably go off far too short for any interest for me. White shift came out of the doldrum last time out winning by a length and is still well handicapped on old form but is up 5lb and up in class today and she will need to build on that win to get involved here in my opinion. Romantic queen is yet to win a handicap (won a maiden and a seller) but has put 2 creditable efforts together lately but also creeping up the weights without winning. That leaves Bold Ring who should hold a solid chance if building on her 3rd last time out, that was in a similar race to this and was her first run for over 100 days and should strip fitter, handicapper has actually dropped her 1lb for that effort which is a bonus as with many consistent horses the handicapper doesnt like to relent she has sat around her latest mark for a while now with several placed efforts.

Bilberry got back in front on penultimate start and not put up an excessive 2lb and ran a creditable effort in defeat last time out in a muddling race where they went a dawdle and sprinted for the line, race should be run more to suit today with several front runners. Pha Mai Blue could be dangerous if all is well after a break, yard in good form and has a good record on the awwith all 3 wins coming over this course now 5lb lower than last winning mark potentially dangerous if back to best after rest, has previously gone well fresh.

A very interesting and competitive 3yr old handicap and Brittains horses continue in fine form and I actually laid Azlak last time out but showed much improved form last week over kemptons mile having dropped a considerable amount in handicap, runs off same mark today and Callan booked for the ride who is also in fine form. Wide draw is the only drawback for a prominent runner and hence reason I am not getting stuck right in.

Several usual aw sprinters here and some potentially well handicapped but when sprinters are in form they win if they aint they dont win its usually a good rule of form with sprinters on aw. Brynfa Boy made a positive comeback from break in weak maiden but really stepped up winning handicap next time out, up 6lb for that effort and there was plenty of money around last time out similar today would suggest he is to run another solid race. Chjimes has plummeted in the weights and has a fantastic record around here and should appreciate a short break after a busy spell and could pose a danger if getting the gaps.

Spruce has shown he is a real class act making light work of winning at the weekend under a penalty, a further 3lb under penalty/rise in handicap should prove of little inconvenience my only concern is his only last 2 wins have come at lingfield and although won over this course that was a 2 runner affair and not much of a match so today will be a truer test to this surface. Should he fail Reverend Green is a very interestng runner after winning NHF race on this surface and then won a weakish maiden over a mile, step up in trip wont be a problem and Kevin ryan yard flying right now. Bariolo is also unexposed and a potential danger but fibresand an unknown.

Likely just a 4 runner field with Amber moon running last night. Miss christophene looks to have a plum opportunity here today and forecasted 7/4 price is massive and would mind betting its a lot shorter. Look officer best form is here but is very ungenuine and no headgear again, Whooshka failed to really show anything yet and surface an unknown, Bushy dell again failed to convince on one try at surface and handicapper looks to have a hold. That leaves Christophene who was a head second to chargin indian last time out over CD well clear of the rest of the field with General tufto behind who has boosted that form recently. She is now 2lb higher than last win round here but lightly raced and may have more to offer her more exposed rivals.

What a lovely bunch of out of form horses we have here, Flores Sea won a weak seller and should find this a lot tougher. Another decent looking handicap for an evening meeting. Several clearly useful inform sorts but I have a slight preference for the Johnston runner who could prove a little better than a class 3 handicapper clearly had his problems only 2 runs to date one as a 2 yr old winning a decent york maiden and then as a 3yr old winning another useful handicap at newmarket, up 8lb for that win and may have more to offer and clearly goes well fresh for a yard in good form.

Usual out of form class 6 handicapers in the line up except the likely 2 market leaders. Wetherby place has strung 2 good efforts together but they have come in apprentice events and may flatter him slightly, where as The City Kid took advantage of career low mark last month and was unlucky to bump into the useful granny mcphee last time out plus met trouble in running still well in on old form and may have a little more to offer now finding his form again.

Usual class 6 race, several well handicapped horses if recapturing form but I like the look of :Liddards Withnail and irish import who won on dundalks AW surface on penultimate start only 2lb higher for that and remains lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement. Spoof master is another interesting runner who was perhaps an unlucky second last time out when getting caught late on at kempton last time out but he is still well handicap on old form and if getting soft lead could be a threat, similar could be said for Hart of gold who has continued in good form this winter but perhaps has now peaked and gone over the top looking at his last race dropping away extremely tamely.

Motarjm is of strong interest here on the back of his 4th last time out, he catches the eye because of his mark which is 16lb lower than his last win over cd in 2008. Clearly taken a bit of time to come to hand again after a period on sidelines another 78 day rest last time out and should strip fitter today and this is a step back in class again main concern is the draw in stall 11 for this prominent runner.

Small john meets Divine Force on 3lb better terms when they met back in january when divine beat jogn by just over a length but smalljohn now needs a career best off this mark and this race looks tougher and should be more run to suit for Divine force who has done little wrong in defeat last twice over 6f, he needs a true test over that trip and should be much more suited back to 7f now.

Interesting class 3 handicap and should have a few early season winners in it, Jesse james could be something a little bit more than some of these but a break to overcome. Thunderball was pushed wide last time but handicapper might just have him just where he wants him right now. Gaily noble would be dangerous if getting soft lead but outside draw not ideal. Councellor was last seen second to vainglory who appears to be high enough and has perhaps let that form down a little last twice so that leaves the classy hurdler Starluck who was last seen going down a short head to the extremely useful Go native, and potentially dangerous off this sort of mark back on the flat also effective on polytrack.

Kames park is heading right back to his best and is still well handicapped on his old form he is 3lb better off in handicap today after a good run in second under a pentalty for latest win and use of another useful claimer takes off a handy 5lb and could be dangerous if a strong pace is set.
